Inge de Vries learned to read when she was four years old, and has never stopped.
As a child, she already wrote stories and read everything that came her way. Her love for music drove her to the conservatoire, where she studied classical music. She works as an oboe teacher, teaches music in schools and plays in a symphony orchestra. She is married to a guitarist and has two lovely children.
She expresses her passion for writing in press releases, brochures and website texts for the arts centre where she works in the communications department. She also likes to write historical fantasy with a touch of magic. She loves fancy dress parties and chocolate, eats nothing that comes from the sea and would jump on a chair if she saw a rat.
Her debut Shadow of the Lahr plunges you into a historical world full of breathtaking landscapes, powerful symbolism, believable characters and a touch of magic. An enchanting book, in which nothing is what it seems.
Inge will be signing her books on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Zilverspoor stand.
