Singer-songwriter Jonathan Hultén creates an immersive experience that stimulates and calms all your senses with his holistic approach. His music blurs the boundaries between music, art, and poetry. The gentle guitar fingerpicking, ethereal synthesizers, and melancholic yet joyful melodies create a different world. Will you explore this world with us during Castlefest 2023?
Inspired by a wide variety of genres such as blues, film scores, electronica, grunge and by illustrators like Tove Jansson (the Moomins) and Yoshitaka Amono (Final Fantasy), singer/songwriter Jonathan Hultén’s debut album Chants From Another Place was released in March 2020 and draws you into a deeply reflective and personal world of art and poetry. Since then, a series of video performances and hand-drawn animated music videos have shown that Jonathan’s holistic approach to music is about creating an immersive, aesthetic experience to soothe all your senses. As a listener and concert visitor, you are invited to enter that other place of tranquil guitar fingerpicking, ethereal synthesizers and melancholic yet joyful melodies.
His latest album, “The Forest Sessions”, is a collection of music videos that spontaneously evolved into an album with 10 experimental versions of songs from the album “Chants From Another Place” and the EP “The Dark Night of the Soul”. It is also a small collection of poems and animations telling a little story.
