Merulsa

Emjoy the easy-listening Folk of Merulsa and her band

Twenty-one-year-old Merulsa is an acoustic singer-songwriter in the easy-listening/folk music genre, who accompanies herself on the guitar. With her unique songs, she knows how to touch the audience in a special way. With her lyrics, she tells stories about her own experiences and shows how she looks at life and the world around it. Her music is therefore intended for people who want to listen to what the lyrics has to say or who just want to dream away. During Castlefest she will perform together with musicians who play in her name (Merulsa + band). These musicians are Ollie (the drummer), Tycho (the bass player) and Jan (the pianist).

Merel started singing at an early age. Playing the guitar and writing music only came later, around the age of twelve. She then gradually began to gain stage experience through performances at her high school. In 2017 she participated in Kunstbende (a musician competition) and won third place in the national final at the age of fourteen. This is when the name "Merulsa" came to life. In the same year she released her first EP "We're Heading". Two years later she released her first two singles, My Love and Every Day. This year, her seventh single will come out in may, which is called “Freedom”.
