Gary Hemmings is a Druid, guide and the official Keeper of the Stones at Avebury — one of Britain's oldest and most significant sacred sites. Over 21 years he deepened his knowledge of Druidry through personal study, practice and development, guided in part by the late Arch Druid Terry Dobney, who personally recognised him as his successor. In December 2021, Gary was formally appointed as Keeper within the gorsedd circle at Avebury itself.
As a former National Trust guide, Gary has given talks and tours across the UK and Europe, connecting history, heritage and living spirituality in a straightforward and accessible way.
At Castlefest, Gary will speak about Druidry, ritual landscape and the wheel of the year — how these ancient celebrations are rooted in the land, the seasons and the stones, and how they are still observed and honoured today.
