Yesterday, we announced that for the upcoming edition, we will be dividing the entrance queues based on zodiac signs. This will help the lines move more smoothly, and you'll be waiting with people who share the same energy.
Of course, this decision raises many questions, such as:
- My child has a different zodiac sign, but isn't able to stand in line alone. What should I do?
- I follow Chinese, Celtic, or another form of astrology—how does this work for me?
- My zodiac sign changes depending on interpretation, because I was born on a cusp. Which queue should I choose?
- I don't want to be separated from my group. Is there a solution for this?
We understand that this decision brings up many questions, so in this blog article, you'll find all the answers about how we are handling this.

April Fools!
No worries, dear people! If there’s one thing we’ve learned in 20 years of Castlefest, it’s that the festival is a gathering of like-minded souls, no matter what zodiac sign you have. We would never want to divide that. Whether you're a Virgo or Capricorn, your Chinese zodiac is the Ox, or you have Gemini as your ascendant: you are all equally loved by us.
How does the Main Entrance work?
Every year, our volunteers work hard to ensure that you don’t have to wait too long in line. However, during peak hours, especially between 10:00 and 12:00h, some waiting time is unavoidable.
Steps
- Upon arrival, walk towards the Castlefest entrance.
- Signs will indicate which queues are for day tickets and which are for multi-day tickets (Passe-Partout and Castlefanatic).
- Have your ticket ready: either printed or displayed on a mobile phone with sufficient screen brightness.
- Is the wait a bit longer? Strike up a conversation with the people in front of or behind you in line and make some new friends right away!
Visitors with a dayticket
- Your day ticket will be scanned, allowing you one-time entry to the festival grounds.
- If you wish to leave the festival grounds during the day, make sure to get a stamp at the exit so you can return later the same day.
Visitors with a multi-day ticket (passe-partout and Castlefanatic)
- Your ticket will be scanned, and you will receive a festival wristband.
- Important: Festival wristbands are personal—each wristband grants access to one person only. A damaged or removed wristband is not valid and cannot be replaced.
- With your festival wristband, you can enter and exit the festival grounds freely during opening hours and use the fast-track entrance.
- Do you have a passe-partout ticket? You can pick up your wristband at the main entrance on Thursday. The festival grounds won’t be accessible for you yet, but picking up your wristband in advance will allow you to use the fast-track entrance immediately on Friday.
We’re really looking forward to seeing you all again in August!
