‘Rebels Volk’ (Rebellious Folk) is an umbrella under which a variety of people come together to set up camp. We would like you experience our crafts: wool, leather and chainmail.
We began from our love of making wonderful things in textile, leather and metal.
Over the years we developed our skill in all three. There will be an opportunity to let us repair/make/adjust your accessories. You’re always welcome to ask for advice.
What brings us together?
We were all searching for a group that represents freedom, fun and the festival feeling of Castlefest. To us ‘festival feeling’ symbolises friendship, togetherness, experiencing new things and making memories. We find each other in the common factor of wanting to take care of one another. Everyone brings their own individuality, but we operate as a whole.
Who are we?
We’re passionate about our craft and art; we love to share our passion with you.
The public is invited, in an accessible setting, to participate in activities or experience our crafts during demonstrations in: felting, metal-, leatherworking and weaving chain mail.
Visit the felter; there’s fun to be had all day round trying on historical and fantastical hats.
There’s also a possibility to make yourself a small felted object.
The leatherworker is working on new projects but is also available for repair work (or special requests). And how much fun would it be to make your own pouch! This year the woodworkers will not be present due to maternity leave. So, with joy in our hearts, we’ll have to miss them.
Our chain mail weaver will be ready to demonstrate you his craft and it might be possible to weave a small piece of mail by yourself. The smith could be working in the smithy but,
if the fire won’t co-operate,
he will be hammering copper into beautiful shapes. Metal can be worked in so many ways. Come and have look?
