TriOblique

An exciting fusion of musical influences

In 2018, a small pub in the vibrant and culturally rich city of Genoa, became the meeting point for these three musicians who, despite their very diverse backgrounds, shared a love for Irish traditional music.

Coming from different parts of the world and even more different musical backgrounds, they discovered a common thread that united them: a great passion for creating music that makes people move.

The convergence of styles and experiences, combined with the pure joy of playing together, gave birth to TriOblique, a band that blends a variety of genres, while staying true to the essence of traditional Breton music.

TriOblique’s music has become an exciting fusion of musical influences, as they combine the energy of hard rock, the grooves of dance music and the intricate beauty of delicate fingerpicking with the driving rhythms of the Breton folk music.

They manage to honour the tradition while pushing the boundaries, creating a sound that is both fresh and deeply rooted in musical history.

Their debut album, Danse avec les renards (Dance with the foxes), showcases their unique musical fusion, and has had a significant impact on the balfolk scene across Europe.

Their music has filled concert halls of all sizes, igniting a sense of joy and freedom in their audiences, encouraging them to dance like there’s no tomorrow.

With each performance, TriOblique’s music creates an atmosphere of connection, uniting people through the universal language that is rhythm and melody.

The energy of their live shows -where feet never stop moving- has earned them a dedicated following, proving that the magic of music transcends both language and culture.

Building on their shared musical journeys and adventures, TriOblique is now in the composition phase of their second album. The upcoming release will not only be a continuation of their distinctive sound, but it will expand it in exciting new directions.

The years of collaboration have deepened their musical connection, allowing them to explore new possibilities, push their sound further and… even introduce a new instrument to the mix! At Castlefest, TriOblique will give you a sneak peek of their new music.

Come join us and dance along!
