25 things to do in the 25 days till Castlefest

Castlefest is drawing near. We understand that 25 days still feels like a long wait, so here are 25 things you can do until then.

  1. Download the Castlefest app. It even comes with a handy countdown timer to show how many days you still have to wait.
  2. Sing a song every day to warm up those vocal cords for all the sing-along moments at the stages.
  3. Make a packing list so you don't forget anything you want to bring.
  4. Plan your route to Castlefest. Got spare seats in your car or need a ride? Use Slinger!
  5. Bring quality earplugs to protect your hearing at the stages and sleep better at the campsite.
  6. Are you bringing your photo camera with a detachable lense? Apply for your photo pass here. The deadline to apply is 16 July. Do you still have your plastic sleeve and keycord from last year? Be sure to bring them!
  7. Take daily walks to prepare your feet for walking THE path, the many rounds over the festival grounds, the one-two-three hopping steps of the balfolk dances and dancing all night long in the Silent Disco.
  8. Check your air mattress: If it doesn't deflate, you're good to go!
  9. Be prepared for warm and sunny weather: Stock up on sunscreen and set reminders to reapply it on time.
  10. Browse the catering menu and plan what you'll and to eat and when. Knobi bread, mango lassi or English pie?
  11. Make trinkets for the trinket meeting, so you have something to swap AND you get to meet new people.
  12. Study the festival map so you know the fastest routes from stage to stage, and where the toilets, first aid and caterers are.
  13. Practice your best pose for all those inevitable photos.
  14. Learn more about the figherts of de KOOI and choose your champion. Two fighters in - one fighter out!
  15. Play the Castlefest playlist on Spotify, YouTube or Deezer to set the mood and discover new bands you don't want to miss.
  16. Make your own knobi bread at home and try out how many toppings you can add and still walk to your friends sitting in the grass next to the castle.
  17. Train your arm muscles so you can shoot like a pro at Kunst en Schietwerk or Dutch Warbow Society.
  18. Be ready for cold and rainy weather: bring multiple layers, some dry socks and don't forget your poncho.
  19. Assemble a dream team of clever friends, family members and other acquaintances to take part in the GLM Tavern Quiz on Thursday or Friday.
  20. Make a bingo card with your friends and fill it with all the creatures you hope to spot at Castlefest.
  21. Decide who you want to have a mead-ing with.
  22. Set a phone screensaver with your contact info. In case you lose your phone, we have an easy way to contact you.
  23. Search drawers, old wallets and bags for last year's tokens. You can use them again this year.
  24. Bring some cash, that way you can be sure you can always pay. Even at the stand of that one merchant where you can't pay by card.
  25. Make sure to have your tickets downloaded on your phone or bring them printed. Get your tickets (after 18 July) or confirmation mail resend to you through this link:  https://account.paylogic.com/i-lost-my-tickets

Have a great time!
