Welcome to the wonderful world of Fyndus, a musical folk duo with Emma Coopman (vocals, celtic harp & diatonic accordion) & Thomas Hoste (electro-acoustic alto hurdy-gurdy & sound effects).
Together we bring very danceable listening music or listenable dance music. Be welcome to enjoy our musical stories and be enchanted by the magical harmony of our instruments. With our instruments we tell epic stories, interwoven with earthly and heavenly sounds. Old Irish texts come to life, bathed in a mystical atmosphere, music in which all primal elements are represented.
In February 2025 we released our first CD “re root ed”.
About Emma:
Emma Coopman is a lively lady who wants to touch and enchant the audience with her voice, Celtic harp, diatonic accordion and expression with music that makes her completely silent, enthusiastic and/or weak.Giving people something pure, giving them a good time, giving them a moment of timelessness by using music, is what she loves most. After learning to master the harp and accordion in her youth, she played in various folk formulas. After this period, she started the classical singing course at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven. During this course, she discovered the world of music theater, polyphony and especially her voice. She is currently working solo in the folk scene under the artist name Emmarilin. She is also active as a freelancer in various early music ensembles.

About Thomas:
Ever since the hurdy-gurdy crossed his path, Thomas has been enchanted by the rich tunes of this unique instrument. His love became a passion. Now he tours throughout Western Europe with the regular bands Fyndus, Hidrae, Cecilia, Threo and Nebel. On account of his background in IT, he manages to combine ancient tones with the most modern sound techniques. This recently resulted in an ambient drone project Mótha and a haunting musical saga 'De Manen Opzij'.He is also a frequently requested guest musician with various ensembles, such as Blowzabella & Kadril.Thomas often brings the instrument into the media. Early 2024 he had the honor of playing a solo part with the symphonic orchestra “Prima La Musica” conducted by Maestro Dirk Brossé during a live broadcast on VRT.He has over time been teaching his instrument among others at “Stichting Draailier & Doedelzak”.
