Zilverspoor began as the dream of the late Jos Weijmer. He couldn't believe there was no talent in the Netherlands in the fantasy genre and found it difficult to understand why so much translated work was being published. This led him to take the plunge and start his own publishing house, specifically focused on original Dutch-language works. In 2010 he founded Uitgeverij Zilverspoor, and 3 years later its 'little sister' called Uitgeverij Zilverbron.
For several years now, Cocky and Barry van Dijk have continued the publishing house with great love and passion. And with success: the catalogue is growing like never before. Zilverspoor's goal has remained unchanged all these years: to publish original Dutch-language books and make them available to a wide audience, so that as many people as possible can enjoy wonderful stories.
At Zilver you'll find a family feeling. Everyone is welcome. The stand is always very convivial, amongst ourselves, but certainly also with the people who drop by to grab some books. The authors themselves speak of the Zilver family, which makes Cocky and Barry very proud.
This year we're continuing the love with lots of new titles. At Castlefest 2026, no fewer than 12 will be released. Will you come and have a look?
