De Vrybuyter

Meals from the wood fire

Out of a great love for cooking on a wood fire in the open air, de Vrybuyter started as caterer. Fire and wood are central to all dishes they make on their smoker, grill, or directly in the coals. They work as much as possible with local and organic products and pay a lot of attention to sustainability and animal welfare.

At Castlefest they have three dishes in our arsenal to satisfy your hunger:

  • They will grill delicious meat skewers (175gr!) and finish with their homemade honey BBQ sauce. Their skewers are supplied by the Dykhoeve in Herwen, a small-scale farm where the animals roam freely outside.
  • They will also serve pulled chicken sandwiches. A nice and varied sandwich with a homemade fresh salad, pulled chicken and a spicy mango sauce.
  • And last but not least, corn on the cob from the barbecue! A delicious snack or side dish. The bbq gives you a smoky taste, some butter on it (vegan butter is also an option), a pinch of salt and enjoy!
